What is the overall climate: is it extremely hot or cold, wet or dry, at any time of year, for example?
July to September is really hot and when it rains a few times during that period, it also gets very humid. Outside of those months, the weather has been the treat of the tour. Dry heat, swimming year-round is easy, and while your friends and family are freezing for half the year, you’re enjoying a cold Corona at the beach/pool. - Jan 2023
Despite a few months of very hot temperatures (July-September), Mauritania's climate can be surprisingly pleasant. November through March especially is more temperate, with low humidity and cooler evenings. Rain is scarce, and some days can be uncomfortably sandy. That said, the weather overall- especially during the cooler months- can be quite enjoyable, especially for spending the day at the pool or beach. - Aug 2021
Warm and dusty year round. August - October is HOT and VERY DUSTY with sand storms and humid when it rains which is about 10 times a year. - Aug 2021
The climate is very hot, like Arizona. There are only six days of precipitation during the year, and these are in the late summer/fall and include on some days ten minutes of drizzle which is counted as rain but was actually nothing more than a sun shower. Hot and dry is typical, although November through February is usually absolutely gorgeous with nice cool nights. Dust storms are not uncommon during the change between seasons and can last a couple days. Rain is usually pretty minimal. - Apr 2019

Hot, wet & hot, temperate, and I-wish-it-was-like-this-all-year! The summers are extremely hot - you will understand why the locals are nocturnal. October just sucks - it is hot, humid, and it stinks! November through early May are delightful, it really makes up for the other months. - Dec 2015
Hot most of the year. December through March can be nice. Rainy seasons in September and August can incapacitate the city with flooding. Flooding can last for weeks and pose health risks. - Apr 2014
Hot and hotter. The coolest it gets is 75 F and that's at night. The hottest temps are in the summer and sometimes it's over 110 F. Despite being the desert, sometimes it is humid because of the ocean. Generally it is dry, though. The rainy season (August, September, and October) brings some major rains overnight or quick storms during the day, which also significantly raise the humidity. - Aug 2011
