What do you wish you had known about this particular city/country before moving there?

I knew the lack of items for sale would hurt, but I didn't realize the extent to which the embassy would have no mail, and that the city would offer few goods. Also, I wasn't fully understanding how cut off from the states and family I'd be-- with such bad internet and such expensive phones and high-priced tickets ($500 for a time-consuming flight to Miami, 45 minutes away).
