Can you save money?
Yes - if you don't travel outside the country too much and don't eat broccoli and strawberries every day (or eat in restaurants all the time). We are saving quite a bit of money without too much hardship, but we eat local, in season food as often as possible. - Apr 2016
Yes, until you travel. Flights out of the DRC are extraordinarily expensive but most find it important to travel either back to the U.S. or to Europe, South Africa, East Africa to get away at least once a year at that can eat up all your savings very quickly. - Jan 2014
