What accommodations do schools make for special-needs kids?

This is another tricky area. Again, with a progressive culture, you would expect the best access for special-needs kids, but that is just NOT the reality. The schools have some limited ability to help special needs kids, but it's limited. Parents arrive with high expectations despite warnings from others, and then are disappointed when the school cannot sufficiently accommodate the need. There have been curtailments because of this issue. Anyone with a special needs kid will want to do their research and accept the reality that the Netherlands is not a great fit for a family with special schooling needs. - Mar 2025
