Especially compared to other countries in Africa, South Africa is very accepting of LGBTQ+ diversity. SA has its own Pride Month (in October, I think). Gay marriage has been legal for 15 years. There is a pretty large LGBTQ+ community at the Embassy, for an African post. - Jun 2022
