What is your home city/country? How long is the trip to post from there, with what connections? How easy/difficult is it to travel to this city/country?
US- Direct flights to Dulles or ATL. Long, but doable. - Oct 2024
Virginia, USA. It's far, but easier than many other places in Africa. Direct flights to Atlanta or Newark, but even those are 16 hours. Plenty of options to connect through Europe or the Middle East as well. - Apr 2023

Washington, D.C. 19 hours of flying. Some direct flights; or connect through Europe. It's a long flight, but many flights are available and cost about $1200-1500 round trip if you're paying for your own ticket. Could be worse. South African Airlines is no longer flying internationally, which is too bad. - Jun 2022
Washington, DC. Easy, but long direct flights or connections in Europe. Sometimes very cheap - $850 or less to the US via London. Can also get to the west coast via Asia and there are many special fares. Johannesburg airport is about 35 minutes from Pretoria and is a global hub. - Jan 2020
