Is high-speed home Internet access available? How long does it typically take to install it after arrival?
Yes - we have 5G TIM. The Embassy installed it for us prior to arrival. - Aug 2024
Yes. - Sep 2022
Yes, although set-up times are long and god forbid anything goes wrong, dealing with the internet companies is an exercise in futility. 50 Euro/month. - Oct 2014
Fairly high-speed internet services are available at prices similar to those in the US and are usually offered in package deals (TV-phone-internet) by the provider. - May 2013
High-speed internet is available. Costs vary depending of the provider, but subscription rates seem reasonable. Most encounter problems when canceling subscriptions, so do that 3 months prior to leaving Rome. Also, suggest you bring your own wireless router due to issues with dynamic IP addressing. - Apr 2012
Yes. Its not too bad -- once it gets set up -- which can take quite a while. The billing is loony, so I haven't a very good idea of what it costs per month, but I'm okay with what we pay. Ours includes 1000 minutes of phone calls to the US for 5 euro, SKY TV, and internet. - Aug 2010
30 Euros for Wireless. Be prepared that getting internet installed will take a month or longer, so inquire weeks before you move in. - Apr 2009
ADSL is available from all the major telecom companies. I get mine from Infostrada and pay about US$50/month. It's fairly reliable, but not 100% reliable. Occasionally it goes out for no reason for a few days. - Feb 2008
Yes, a few offerings for about US$50-60 per month. - Feb 2008
