No quarantine from some countries (like the U.S.) if your pet meets certain requirements, but 6 months from other countries. All dogs have to be brought in by cargo, so it's expensive. Good vets are available. - Feb 2015

Yes, 6 months or something ridiculous like that. But there is some kind of waiver you can apply for ahead of time if you have all the proper medical paperwork done. I think you have to get it certified that you lived in a 'rabies-free zone' beforehand, which, if you are coming from DC, means some finagling with the map to include much of the Potomac in that zone. - Mar 2012
