What typical restaurants, food delivery services, and/or takeout options are popular among expatriates?
Restaurants here are, surprisingly, mediocre and outrageously expensive. We rarely eat out as a family of four as it isn't affordable. delivery exists bu the issues remain the same. For special occasions we do go out for fondue which is very Swiss and worth the expense, though it is also easy to make fondue at home. Ethnic food here isn't plentiful and it isn't good, with few exceptions. There are loads of good bars and pubs and beer and wine are reasonable. bakeries are all over and bread in all its glorious forms, and cheese too are terrific and affordable. - Jan 2020

ALL TYPES.NO LUNCH CAN EVEN BE CONSIDERED IN BERN FOR LESS THAN $17; NO DINNER WOULD BE CONSIDERED FOR LESS THAN $20-25.EVEN MCDONALD'S WILL COST ABOUT $11 FOR A BIGMAC. - Jan 2011
McDonald's, VERY expensive. A meal deal will cost you US$14.We have found the restaurants here to be wonderful, whether Swiss food or ethnic. We haven't had a bad meal here. They are very expensive though, roughly double what you'd pay in the States. - Feb 2009
