Are credit cards widely accepted and safe to use locally? Are ATMs common and do you recommend using them? Are they safe to use?
ATMs are plentiful and safe to use, as are credit cards. They have chip-and-pin here, but have no problem doing a swipe. Your only issue may occur at the gas station, where they ask you to pull up after filling your tank. A few people have been charges a few extra rupees here and there, so double check the total they quote you and the total you're actually charged on your card. - Jun 2014
