No malaria pills in Harare, but you are supposed to take them if you travel outside the city. If you take normal precautions and have routine immunizations, you should be OK. That said, if something goes really wrong, it will probably be a medevac. Doctors are here, but intermittently striking, and they have no supplies. There are islands of excellence but most services are very limited and expensive. Quality of care is going down. For anything serious, medical evacuation is the best route. Lack of information on ingredients used in almost all products is scary. You don't know what you're eating. It looks nice but can contain all kinds of pesticides etc. - Jul 2017

The local HIV infection rate is pretty high.Drinking water should be distilled and as always with international travel, check your plastic water bottle seal. Malaria is a concern below Harare.
