Are preschools available? Day care? Are these expensive? What has been your experience with them, if any? Do the schools provide before- and/or after-school care?
There is a local pre-school/kindergarten across from the Embassy as well as QSI, Raduga (Russian language pre-school), and in-home care. Schools do not provide before or after school care, but the bus for QSI picks up kids early enough to generally make it to work on time depending on your commute distance. - Apr 2021
I believe QSI has a preschool. No English-speaking day care that I know of. Nannies are common and cheap and (I'm told) it's possible to find good ones, but English-speaking nannies are much more rare and expensive. - Dec 2016

Yes. Options are available for preschool. We have a full time nanny whom I adore. We pay her just under US$700 a month but she is scheduled for 12 hours a day. - Oct 2013

I think QSI has a pre-school, and there are also playgroups. Russian preschool is available. It seems like there are a lot of younger kids here and the parents are really happy. Nannies abound and are quite good. - Jun 2009
We have sent our kids to a parent organized playgroup. It's about US$100 a month, depending, and includes lunch. Other options are the QSI preschool which is somewhere around US$4000 a year, not including any food, and a local 3 day a week Christian preschool. There are rumors of others, but those are the ones used by the expats here. - Jul 2008
