What types of jobs do most expatriate spouses/partners have? Locally based or telecommuting? Full-time or part-time? Can you comment on local salary scales?
Some telecommute, some work at embassy - normal mix. Pretty big embassy, there are opportunities for EFMs here. - Aug 2024

The Embassy has a good amount of EFM positions. I think the FAMER lists 40 jobs or so ranging from low to moderate pay. The Embassy also has 4-5 EPAP positions. Teleworking is quite common but the 5-6 hour time difference from DC makes it challenging. - Mar 2022
NGOs or at embassies. Not easy to get a work permit but it does happen. There are a lot of longterm expats here that seem to make it work. - Nov 2019
There is a substantial group of spouses here who work from home, either telecommuting or working as freelancers in various fields. I know of at least one spouse who teaches classes here, but I don't know the details of working on the local economy. There are some jobs at the Embassy, in the Consular section and the Community Liaison Office (CLO). - May 2019
Here in the embassy most non-embassy spouses do not work because there is little work at the embassy. I don't know any who work on the local economy, but I am sure there are some. - Apr 2018
