Hermosillo - Post Report Question and Answers

How do you send and receive your letters and package mail? Are local postal facilities adequate?

Consulate mail comes from Texas. Mail is very quick and comes every week or two. I don't use local postal facilities. - Sep 2024

We receive pouch through the mail center in Brownsville, TX. No issues! It's typically pretty quick. I've also ordered from Mexico online retailers to my house address. - Jun 2023

Via a mail center in TX. Once mail hits TX, it takes an additional 2-3 days to reach Hermosillo. This means it takes about a week from Amazon, factoring in the weekend. - Sep 2022

Through the logistics center in Brownsville and then they deliver the items to post a couple days a week. Mail can be a little slow at time taking a week or more to arrive but in general it works well. - Sep 2022

Incoming pouch mail takes a week or less. Outgoing pouch mail takes 2-3 weeks, or more to reach its intended U.S. recipient. FedEx and DHL are also possibilities. - Aug 2022

APO. - Aug 2015

We are able to send everything through the consulate. The consultate drives the mail up to Nogales twice a week. - Apr 2013

Mexican post is unreliable and slow. Services such as UPS, DHL and FedEx are available and recommended unless you have access to diplomatic pouch services. - Dec 2009

The Mexican mail system is reliable in that you can get everything that is sent but it is very, very slow (everything takes at least two weeks). Fedex, UPS, Estafeta, and DHL are all available and offer service to desitnations worldwide. Also, if you don't mind making a little bit of a trip once a month or so, you can get a PO box in Nogales, Arizona (about a three hour drive north) or Tucson, Arizona, and make a monthly shopping, entertainment, and mail run. - Feb 2008
