Tegucigalpa - Post Report Question and Answers
What is the overall climate: is it extremely hot or cold, wet or dry, at any time of year, for example?
The weather is amazing year-round. You have the ability to spend most of your free time outdoors if you choose and rainy days are usually in the evening and only during the rainy season. The coastal areas in the north are gems and about a 4-5 hour drive, and if you want to fly to Roatan, you can get there in under 50 minutes. Fruit is abundant and fresh; however, it is seasonal. When berries and in season, they are amazing. - Mar 2024
November-April 75-85F April-November 80-90F Not as much humidity as up north. - Jan 2024
Absolutely perfect. It's basically 75-85 year round. In November/December/January we can even leave our screen doors open all day and not worry about mosquitos. Basically, Tegucigalpa is far enough from the ocean and high enough in the mountains that we don't have that overwhelming humidity or the extreme weather changes. - Aug 2023
Spring all year long. - Feb 2022
Weather is perfect here. It is pleasant and in the 70s-80s for most of the year. There are a couple of months were it might break 90 degrees and a couple of months where you might need a jacket at night. There is a lot of sun and very pleasant evening breezes. Even during the rainy season, the rain often comes at night or in one to two hour bursts during the day. - Oct 2019
Climate is good. Cool at night. Hot during day. Rainy season and dry season. - Jul 2018
Pleasantly warm and sunny most of the year, with cooling afternoon showers. Spells of higher 90s in April and May, and sometimes brutal, cold wind (down to the 50s or 40s) for a while between November and February. - May 2018
The climate is the only good thing about Honduras. Mid-80s in the day (up to the 90s in the summer) and 60s-70s at night (down to the 50s in the "winter"). Sunny, sunny, sunny. Rainy season is great because it really only rains at night. - May 2018
Perfect weather year round. Sunny and mid 70s to low 80s. Can get a little cooler in December-Jan which is a nice change. There is a rainy season but generally it will only rain for 30 minutes or so in the evening. - Apr 2018
Excellent weather year-round. - Jun 2016
- The weather is perfect. Better than Southern California. Very pleasant. - The country is relatively unpopulated. 8 million people live here (12 million in NYC), and of those, probably 1 million live in the U.S. Thus, as soon as you get outside the cities, Honduras is very open. - Feb 2016
Tropical weather. There's rainy season, but it's been a dry year and it hasn't rained much. - Aug 2015
The weather in Tegucigalpa is almost always temperate. There are a few hotter and/or rainier days, but generally it's eternal spring here. - Jul 2015

There are only two seasons in Honduras: the rainy season from May to November and the dry season from November to May. The temperature in Honduras differs substantially by elevation (cooler at higher altitudes further inland). In Tegucigalpa, the weather is close to perfect (75-80F). - Jan 2014
Excellent in general. - Oct 2013
In general I'd say nice. - Jun 2013

Weather is nice -- occasionally in the upper 80's but mainly in the mid to lower 80's. Not much rain, and when it does come, it's not for too long. - Jan 2012
Great weather. - Nov 2009
Beautiful weather. It's one of the best things about this post. It's warm enough to swim pretty much year 'round except for maybe a month or two around Christmas. - Oct 2009
