How do you send and receive your letters and package mail? Are local postal facilities adequate?
Through the embassy. I know of someone who does send mail via the local postal service and says it works find but I've never used it. - Jun 2023

Our limited experience with mail has been very iffy - a postcard arrived to the U.S. a year after it was sent! We rarely use local mail, though. - May 2016

Bulgaria Post is cheap, but they take forever. DHL and TNT are good options, but they are expensive (about 80 bucks to send a document envelope to the U.S.). - Jun 2011

All the major courier companies are here (DHL, FEDEX, UPS, TNT) although they are expensive. Bulgaria Post is less expensive but it is SLOW. - Feb 2008
