Are credit cards widely accepted and safe to use locally? Are ATMs common and do you recommend using them? Are they safe to use?
Credit cards and ATMs are everywhere. One thing that really drives me crazy is paying bills here. You often have to take cash to the post office to pay bills. I can’t figure out why many businesses haven’t figured out how to have online payments. - Jun 2022

You can get most big things done with a credit card. However, at most of the smaller stores (bakery, butcher shop, and flower shop) you need the francs. The ATMs have worked fine, but make sure to notify the bank of your moving overseas to ensure no problems. - Jul 2009
