How would you describe the availability and cost of groceries and household supplies relative to your home country?
You can get almost everything in Austria as you can in the US.Groceries are slightly more expensive than in the US though. That being said, the quality is much better. They are very organic and the food will be fresh. Sometimes you may need to go to more than one store to get all of the things on your shopping list, but that is part of the charm!There are also markets that you can get fresh food from. Stay away from the market in the Altstadt as they will just rip you off, but every Thursday there is a good one near Mirabellplatz where the locals go to stock up for the week. - Mar 2011
