Salzburg - Post Report Question and Answers
What types of jobs do most expatriate spouses/partners have? Locally based or telecommuting? Full-time or part-time? Can you comment on local salary scales?
This can be hit or miss. Austria is very protective of their jobs. Some things may be available, but the biggest hinderance would be not speaking German. I knew a smart British girl that had to work at McDonald's because she was not a native German speaker(and that was even with EU work authorization).That being said, this is a tourist economy so I am sure you could find something related to assisting English speaking tourists - being a guide, ski instructor, etc. - or teaching English at a school or on the side. - Mar 2011
