What is the overall climate: is it extremely hot or cold, wet or dry, at any time of year, for example?
This is an all-four-seasons place, with glorious summers that only get truly hot (above 90F/32F) for about two weeks a year. The rest of the time, it's fairly temperate and rainy. Even winter, it's rare to have more than a few days below freezing in a row, and if it snows, it tends to melt/freeze/melt/freeze so you just have to be diligent about shoveling snow while it's fresh and wearing grippy shoes so you don't slip on black ice. - Jun 2024
It's about the same as New England. It can get pretty hot in the summer. We only had a couple of days of really cold weather and not as much snow as my skiing family hoped for! - Nov 2016
Cold in the winter. Generally lovely in the spring, summer, and fall. Hot days can seem really terrible though, as most the city does not have A/C. - Mar 2014
We've got them all: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. However, winters can be too cold and too long. This year, it started in October and is still going in April. - Apr 2013
Cooooooold in the long winters, but there are some lovely summer months where it actually gets quite hot. - Sep 2011
Winters are long and dark. The sun is down by 3 p.m. in the depths of winter. Springs have a lot of rain, and summers can vary from winter coats to 90 plus degree temperatures. The long winters and being cooped up inside tend to take their toll. - Aug 2011
