Are credit cards widely accepted and safe to use locally? Are ATMs common and do you recommend using them? Are they safe to use?
No. You can use them at major restaurants or hotels, but not everywhere. They are no ATMs I would recommend using. - Jan 2022
CC are used in very few places. Make sure you bring your check book to get cash at the embassy cashier. Cash is king here and many ATMs often run out of money. - Sep 2021

No, cash economy for most part. Don't use an ATM, unless at the nicest/most secure bank and still then, go to the teller, not the ATM. - Sep 2017
There are some ATMs at banks and a few restaurants but they release such small denominations of US$ it's hardly worth all the fees. The society itself is cash based. - Sep 2014
