What are some typical ways to socialize, either with local people or with other expatriates? Are there groups or clubs that you can recommend?

There is an expat group called Internations which hosts events throughout the city. Otherwise people meet for BBQs or pool parties, or go out for dinner and drinks/dancing. - May 2018
Most apartment buildings have Facebook pages - join the group and go to group events. If your children are at school, join the PTA or attend informative sessions when you can during the school year to meet other parents. Connect with people through your place of employment. - Apr 2017
Pretty much anything you could imagine. There are great restaurants and bars and tons of shopping options. Most expats live in apartment buildings with pools, and given the climate, pool parties are the most comfortable way to be outside. - May 2016
