Athens - Post Report Question and Answers

Are qualified veterinarians and/or good kennel services available? Do animals need to be quarantined upon entry to the country? Are there other considerations regarding pets that are particular to this country?

Yup, the kennel facilities are better than our housing. Rates are cheap and people leave pets for long term including R&Rs. Vets are good too. - Mar 2022

No quarantine. Good vets available and ridiculously cheap. We shipped in pet food, treats, and litter only because I’m picky about what I use. There are plenty of pet shops with everything you would need. Pet carriers, leashes, food, litter, etc. Shipping pets out was a bit of a process, so plan ahead. GSO and the airport cargo folks were very helpful. - Jan 2020

We did not have to quarantine our pets upon entry or even show any paperwork for them--they were brought in by car. - Jan 2017
