Nothing related to the city, but Fatima Mernissi, a Moroccan sociologist, has written several wonderful nonfiction books about her childhood in Fez, which is very similar and an hour away: Scheherazade Goes West: Different Cultures, Different Harems
Paul Bowles, an American who lived in Tangier for 50 years, wrote a score of fiction about Morocco, the best of the bunch being: The Sheltering Sky (P.S.)
