How do you send and receive your letters and package mail? Are local postal facilities adequate?

We use DPO. It has to come through Tblisi and takes about three weeks for things to get here. - Dec 2024


DPO and pouch. DPO takes 2-3 weeks, pouch three weeks. - Sep 2023

We use DPO and Diplomatic Pouch. Other expats use the local postal services and have many many issues with their parcels. - Aug 2023

We use pouch and DPO. Some of the BP families use some shipping services, so there are options if you aren't an American diplomat. - Jun 2021


We just got DPO downstream from Tbilisi. It still has some kinks, but they are being worked out. We also still have pouch. I don't know of anyone who has used local mail. - Jan 2019


Baku is currently a pouch-only post (Li batteries can be problematic). We never used the local postal facilities. - Jul 2018
