Is the amount and type of homework generally appropriate for the age and grade of the students?
yes - Jul 2022
Not a lot of homework. - Feb 2021
Yes. A lot of the lower school just has homework "options." ICS tends to say that going grocery shopping with parents is education, and they want kids to play after school instead of being boggled down with homework. I've noticed a slight increase in homework this year, but I think it's to be expected. There is still some freedom of what to choose from a list of options FOR homework, and I like that. - Sep 2019
Yes. But it is a challenge. Our daughter sometimes wakes up at 6 a.m. to finish her homework, but she takes her academics seriously. - Nov 2018
The homework system is FANTASTIC! The teacher gives the students weekly homework assignments from which the students can DECIDE which activities to do. If they have 10 spelling words, for example, the student could write a story, create a crossword puzzle, or a mock test for another student. I love the way that students can choose what to do while the teachers still encourage the students to try different activities. Genius, really. And I don't have to keep asking every night if the kids have homework!! - Feb 2018
A bit on the heavy side, there is a mandatory O block everyday that is essentially a study hall with additional study time in the evenings for boarders. - Apr 2017
