What services are available for gifted/advanced students at the school? Please describe your experience with these services, if applicable.

My daughter is taking four AP classes and has been able to really push herself academically. - Jul 2022

I think that the classes cater to all types of learners. - Sep 2019

I would say that your kid should already be gifted/advanced even to apply to this school (We have a range of needs in our family, but a couple of our kids fall into this category. They are academic and need to be pushed). - Nov 2018

Sometimes students are placed in higher groups (like for math or reading) if they are ready. Our daughter, for example, started in the highest level of math and was moved down a level (oops!), but is working her way back up to the first level again. In that way, it's a little fluid, if you will, but it gives students a chance to move ahead. - Feb 2018

From our four years at the school, I don't believe the school is equipped for gifted/ advanced students. There was no placement testing and no gifted program, as far as we are aware. There seemed to be very little differentiation going on in the classroom, with teachers focusing the majority of their attention on maintaining discipline in the classroom rather than focusing on learning approaches.

In our four years at the school, our children were never offered a chance to compete academically, such as in a spelling or a geography bee, and there seemed to be no other formal recognition of students with advanced abilities, which might have encouraged them academically. - Aug 2016
