Are there are any problems with exclusionary behavior, cliques, or bullying at this school? Please describe any problems your children may have experienced in this area.
I have heard bullying is an issue at older grades, as can be the case in a many schools. I hear the Administration is trying to do something about it, but I don't have other specific information. We have not experienced bullying or cliques at the younger grades. - Aug 2023
In our experience, cliques and bullying were common. Some parents (including locals) are trying to get together and find a way to dissuade this because it’s such a persistent issue. - Mar 2022
We haven't seen any bullying at the school. On the soccer field, like in other Latin American countries, the competition is fierce and not particularly welcoming at the older ages so if your kid wants to play soccer he just has to go for it. The kids are very good. Other than that ,there have been no issues. We know other gringos who have lots of local friends of all ages and sexes so it depends on your kid. - May 2018
Last year my oldest daughter didn't make any friends. At all. But I think that was mostly because of her own social immaturity and her so-so Spanish. This year her best friend (an expat) moved into the school, and with that added confidence boost, she has made dozens of friends and is having the best year of her life. Even during her first year here, the local kids were very kind to my daughter and made many efforts to befriend her. The language and cultural barrier was just too much for my daughter. - Nov 2016
NO. School standards were set high and bullying was not tolerated in any form. The kids really seemed to love the school and positive environment set by the administration. - Oct 2011
