Colombo - School Report Question and Answers
What is the climate for students who identify as ethnic, race/racial minorities or religious minorities at this school? Are there resources they can draw upon? Have your children had any experiences in this area?
There are students from all sorts of backgrounds and cultures. This is definitely a mixing pot. What I love is they embrace and celebrate the differences, and learn from each, rather than make the differences a point of contention. This is the general culture of the school: a bracing curiosity and engaging with all cultures. - Oct 2024
It is my experience that the school is well integrated and supportive, and I know the school does a great job of hiring teachers from around the world who reflect the diversity of our student population. But I do not have first-hand knowledge in this area. - Sep 2024
We are a mixed Christian/Jewish house. There have been some anti-Semitic comments since October. The school acknowledges many holidays but did not wish Happy Hannukah to families. Both of my older kids have reported that some racist comments have been made towards their classmates from India. - Jan 2024
